Dr. tenaye   hailu

Tenaye Hailu has a Ph.D. in Advanced Human Behavior and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).  She is a licensed psychotherapist in Oklahoma and a Registered Play Therapist. In addition, she is a certified Coach, Teacher, Trainer, and Speaker. Dr. Hailu is a co-founder of the Yechalal (ይቻላል) Support Group for parents with special needs children.

 

Dr. Tenaye is a proud Ethiopian-American, having immigrated when she was 19;  she has lived and learned multicultural experiences. 

 

She has three living, vibrant adult children, a deceased adult child, and a granddaughter. She has lived in Oklahoma since 1997.  She serves on a mental health awareness committee and enjoys teaching and speaking at workshops and conferences about parenting, relationships, and mental health. 

 

Dr. Tenaye has the skills and experience to create a supportive environment where a person feels accepted and comfortable to share openly, assess underlying issues, and explore alternatives to deal with problems raised. She welcomes people of all ages, abilities, classes, genders, gender expressions, races, religions, and sexual orientations and recognizes that identity impacts one's experience and therapeutic needs.
